The formation of The Vienna Secessionists in 1897 marked quite accurately, the formal beginning of the Modern Art in Austria. The Secession was in large part responsible for the meteoric rise to international fame of several of its members, including Gustav Klimt, Joseph Olbrich, Koloman Moser and Joseph Hoffman who helped to a large extend put Austrian Art back on the map during the 1st and 2nd decades of the 20th Century and beyond.
In this course I will share a bief history of the movement as well as art videos including, painting, drawing, linoleum cutting, stitching and embroidery. There are a wide arrange of techniques and practices to interpret the beautiful and provocative paintings of Gustav Klimt and the design work of Koloman Moser. I wanted this to be more than a painting class which makes the intrepretations so very unique. There is over 6 hours of videos.
