In this class we will be making a large fabric book ( 10.5" x 14.50") with plastered fabric wings for the cover. The wings can be used as a Christmas decoration as well as covering the book. I demonstrate how to make each.

I will show you how to transform the vintage linens, laces, and plain cottons into a sculptural, gorgeous heirloom using gesso and joint compound (pre-mixed plaster).

I will show you a variety of techniques to work on your pages

1. Coptic binding the book
2. Hand dying fabric with regular and natural dyes as well as rusting and metallic paint
3. Making mandalas using a variety of collaging techniques
4. Creating wings using wing and feather templates, plastering on fabric
5. Making collage elements on paper and fabric with paint, stitching and mark making
6. Plastering and gessoing fabrics
7. Stamping with plaster on organza fabrics
8. Creating collage pages with the collage elements….stitching to bring everything together
9. Painting and drawing portraits and adding stitched collage elements
10.  Combining graphite, charcoal, oil paint mixed media art

This is a self-paced class and all videos are downloadable as well.
