In this class we will be creating a portrait using acrylic paints on canvas. I cover color mixing, creating values and building up layers.

The next step we create a wing like image using layers of fabric. We cut out and paint wing like shapes and embellish with embroidery. I discuss and demonstrate using some traditional embroidery stitches resulting in a very rich,textural fiber piece that we attach to the portrait. Finally we finish the project using collage methods.
